Covenant Reformed Church at Grass Valley What do we mean when we speak of the “doctrines of grace”? These doctrines set forth the absolute sovereignty of God in salvation. In other words, it is God who bestows salvation upon those He chooses according to His own will. These doctrines stand in opposition to a theology which is popular among many evangelical Christians today. This theology, which is known as Arminianism, sees man initiating salvation of his own free will and thus denies the absolute sovereignty of God. Arminianism teaches that man must choose to be saved and that God would not force salvation upon man. The question is, “What does the Bible teach?” Is God absolutely sovereign in salvation? Or is man the one who must, of his own free will, choose to be saved? Our speakers addressed this most important question from God’s infallible Word.
