* Moved to San Diego, California in 1977 and heard the gospel preached at Calvary Chapel of San Diego in January of 1978. Received Christ as Savior & Lord at that time. God gave me an intense hunger for His Word and a desire to serve Him in whatever capacity He saw fit to use me. * Attended the San Diego School of Evangelism in (1 year course of study). Major focus of my studies was world missions. Was sent out as a missionary to the Truk islands of Micronesia in 1981 to assist in evangelism and church planting. * Upon return to San Diego, assisted in the planting of a church in the Point Loma area. Developed a number of ministries in the church including Sunday School, Outreach, and Home Bible studies. Was elected to the office of Deacon in 1984 and the office of Ruling Elder in 1986. * Participated in a 3 year leadership training course of studies (1982-1985) at which time I became convinced in the validity and clarity of the Reformed faith. The church matured over the course of 13 years to become a Reformed and Presbyterian church that eventually became a member church of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, General Assembly denomination. * Complete a three year Master of Divinity degree at Westminster Theological Seminary in California. While attending school, I transferred my membership to Harvest OPC in Vista, California. I served as intern in that church from September of 1995 until June of 1997. I was licensed to preach by the Southern California Presbytery of the OPC in February of that year. * After graduating seminary, I accepted the call to pastor what is now known as Harvest Reformed Church (RCUS) in Minot, North Dakota. I served that congregation for over four years. During that time we acquired a new church building and we experienced growth in a number of areas. * In August of 2001 I accepted the call to pastor Providence Reformed Church (RCUS) in Lodi, California. * Married for over 22 years to my wonderful Christian wife Rebecca and have 5 children, Joshua (age 20), Tabitha (age 18), Abraham (age 16), David (age 9), and Timothy (age 8). |
